Description

This illusion uses the tape from cassette tapes to create an anamorphic image of a ghetto blaster. The top parts of the radio were the easiest to work on. All we had to do was spread the tape semi-evenly. When viewed from a low angle is basically looks like a solid piece. The closer we got to the bottom of the radio, the more difficult it became. Even a small 1 inch by 1 inch piece could take 20 minutes to work on. There were several points during the creation of the illusion that I was ready to give up. I did a few test shots when the radio was half finished and it just didnt seem to be working. But we kept going and we were pretty happy with the end result. What happens in our brain when we view an optical illusion? The information gathered by the eye is processed in the brain to create an idea or image that does not match with a physical measurement of the stimulus source.
